CincySeniors.org A Cincy AI Catalyst (CAIC) guide to using AI

🤖 How Cindy Works

Cindy AI is a curated chatbot powered by RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation). This approach allows Cindy to provide helpful, accurate information by combining artificial intelligence with a structured database of trusted resources.

Cindy is designed to serve as a technical guide to AI and to share information about local services and organizations that may be of interest to older adults in the Greater Cincinnati area.

📚 What Cindy Knows

Cindy's responses are based on the content stored in its RAG database. This database includes documents and materials that have been carefully selected to answer user questions. You can explore these materials directly on the Resources page, which contains PDFs and other information used to support Cindy's answers.

Because Cindy's knowledge comes from a curated database — not the open internet — her answers are focused and relevant. If Cindy doesn't have enough information to answer a question, she will say so honestly and suggest other ways to get help.

💡 Tips for Getting the Best Results

Be specific with your questions

The more detail you provide, the better Cindy can match your question to the right resources. For example, "Are there meal delivery programs in Hamilton County?" will get a better result than "food help."

Try rephrasing if you don't get a helpful answer

Cindy's knowledge is based on specific documents. If she says she doesn't have enough information, try asking the same question in a different way, or browse the Resources page directly.

Never share personal information

Cindy does not need your name, address, phone number, or any other personal details to help you. Please keep your conversations general and focused on the information you are looking for.

âš ī¸ Important Limitations

Cindy AI is a helpful guide, but she is not a substitute for professional advice. Please keep the following in mind:

  • Cindy cannot provide medical diagnoses or legal advice.
  • Always confirm details — such as hours, phone numbers, and program availability — directly with the organization.
  • For emergencies, call 911. For mental health crisis support, call or text 988.
